Trading ad becomes an option only if bron retires and we want a to rebuild.

In an ideal world for Los Angeles, they sign the undrafted combo guard to the four-year deal north of $50 million its limited to offering, which would allow the Lakers to still have access to the $12.2 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception and the bi-annual exception worth roughly $4.5 million, and then fill out the rest of the roster with veteran minimums in addition to re-signing Hachimura and Russell with Bird rights. If another team swoops in and offers Reaves above that threshold, it will hamstring Los Angeles’ efforts to not just bring this group back, but add to it while remaining under the second apron.

ā€œAll it takes is one team who wants to f*** the Lakers,ā€ one cap strategist told Yahoo Sports. A suitor could just outright value Reaves at a number past $20 million in annual salary as well. An obvious candidate: the Rockets, holding upward of $60 million in cap space with the goal of competing next season and the potential need of alternative plans should James Harden ultimately spurn a Houston homecoming.

It's not serious anymore since AD hasn't been aggressive and available. There's no possible way equal value could return for him

The 70% that was his regular season was really good, and his rim protecting was pretty good in the playoffs too (the times he gave effort). I'm saying where would find equal value to what AD is, and as a GM would you make the trade?

I do agree we wouldn’t get a return in value

That’s the problem with blowing it up

I can’t see him getting more than low 20s per year. Just don’t see anyone giving him more

  • Who is the future star for us when LeBron finally retires or who would y'all want? Realistically!!!

Haven’t had the time to scout… but I think we can target the following 3 spots

Big Forward - RUI was an amazing pickup. Vandy is a good defender, hope he gets a jumper. Lebron is getting older and prolly going sit. Would be nice to add another 6-8 to 6-10 forward who can play D and shoot the 3 ball. Big wings dominant the league

Center- I actually think AD should play PF. Denver exposed our lack of size. Denver isn’t going anywhere so we need to have size to throw at Jokic. I hope we keep Mo but we need another guy if AD plays the 4. We need a rim protecting, someone who can play pick and roll defense and board. Asking AD to protect the rim and be the number 1 option is asking a lot. I would rather go big with AD and a Center. AD is a freak and can guard all forwards in the league

PG- this depends if Dennis leaves or not. If Dennis is gone, there could be a void. It’s a point guard league

There’s no NBA team with cap space this summer that needs him. The Lakers don’t need him either. He’ll be lucky to get $13 million a year.
