old stories should remain old stories

    otherwise they lose their charm

one of the reasons movies like scarface, taxi driver and the warriors are classics is also the way they were shot and made and how directors used to work back then

the whole process of film making is different now

yes, de palma should have never touched the original and let an old story remain an old story. directors worked and shot things differently in the 30's, the whole process of filmmaking is different in the new hollywood era

i agree with u in the general sense but in this case do you see my point

This really might be the riskiest reboot OAT. I always saw Scarface as a film that was basically off limits to reboot . Just like Godfather, Goodfellas, Forrest Gump, etc

(And yes I know 80s Scarface was a reboot but my point still stands )

Interesting. They are going for a completely different vibe I see. Risky....but i guess we gotta wait to see what vibe they are going for in this film

the same difference as the OG and the 80s one

The only similarity will be that its about an immigrant becoming a d*** lord

Yea you are right, but we all know the 80s one is so well known for the time period it captured. So it's hard to think of Scarface without automatically thinking of 80s Miami. So the change will def be polarizing for audiences. It'll be a challenge to get people really invested in a modern day Scarface film

  • May 15, 2020

I can see them giving this one to MBJ

  • May 15, 2020

Jaime lorente from casa de papel por favor. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

would actually be hilarious if they did cast mbj and he went on some heath ledger joker s***

  • May 15, 2020

Need Oscar isaac as tony montana

  • May 15, 2020

No need for this at all lol. It’s an obvious cash grab

  • May 15, 2020

Scarface is pretty overrated to me and the behind the scenes talent here is amazing so I’m not that mad at this

Tbh, the actor playing tony is maybe even more important than the director of writers. Pacino is the main reason the 1983 version was so good.

The way Al delivered all those quotable lines

Nah, the remake will not live up to it. There’s no way.

    Al’s accent

Who doesn’t speak like Al when they’re quoting scarface lines?

    No way! They should stop!
