I read the screenplay not too long ago and it was good. Can't wait to see how it translates to film. Funny thing is the threesome bed scene wasn't in the draft I read. They must've just added that s***

I read it too. I can’t wait to see reactions to the ending. There was some dialogue that might come off as cringe but the actors might be able to save it with their delivery also it could have been rewritten

Where can I read the screenplay?
Wild to think this dude wrote this movie.
And is married to the writer/director of Past Lives. Basically who the white dude in her movie is based on lol

Here’s the link to the pdf:
8flix.com/scripts/film/challengers-2024-screenplay
It’s a spec script not the shooting script so there’s probably elements that have been changed in the movie

Do you prefer reading specs or shooting scripts?
If Specs, which draft so you prefer? First and closer to last?
They were doubting my wife me too ngl
Was iffy on this based on the trailers but seems like Luca definitely didn’t miss yet again

Lately, I’ve been preferring spec because they get to be more unconventional and creative. Also it helps me learn story structure and writer’s voice so it’s improving my writing
Shooting scripts are nice to read when you want to compare how it looked on paper vs how it translated to screen. A lot of the times they cut down the fluff and more direct to the point in the action lines
Hbu?
I said TAR was one of the best movies of the last 5 years and they called me a madman
Now they copying it less than 2years after
Tar was too long for plebs

Fire.
I don’t think I have a preference tbh.
Cus on one hand it’s cool to read a shooting script while watching the film to see “ok that’s how you describe this type of scene”
But it’s also coo to see things that got changed from the script format to on screen
