damn u tryna speak to manager? u a karen?
We don’t play about movies they f***ed up my Tár screening had to go to a different theater cause the image was all f***ed up
Specially if I’m a regular, they’re gonna hear it from me cause I’m not tryna have it be a problem next time I go
The way I viewed Tashi and her motivation:
She never wanted to be a wife/mom. Out of the 3 of them she was the one who didn’t come from money and was a child prodigy who’s career unfortunately got cut short cause of injuries. The only way she was going to be able to stay around the game was through Art. They both knew their whole relationship was built on tennis but Art don’t have the competitiveness in him Tashi and Patrick have
As someone who doesn't likes Sports movies and doesn't likes romance movies. Should I spend my time watching this now on a Sunday afternoon? Pretty much the last opportunity to watch it as I'm too busy during the day on weekdays.
Considering this is a Luca film, I don’t think this trailer will match the tone of the film at all
But I guess making the trailer like this is the best way to get general audiences attention

Bro kinda needed the humiliation to fuel him
the scene when he’s asking her if she’ll still love him if he loses and he wants to retire she says do what you want. After he begs her to “coach him” she says I’ll leave you if you lose

Well, it’s both not really a sports film in that it follows the tropes, nor is it really a romance. It’s more of a drama/erotic film (even though there’s little to no nudity). It’s a very s***fueled film, and more about the characters than the sport being played itself. There’s little talk about feelings or deep love, it’s an aspect but it’s focused more on their flaws than anything romantic. That being said, the scenes during the sports are a highlight, and the scoring behind it is a vibrant and exciting soundtrack that even if the game isn’t all that exciting to you, you get immersed and hyped. Imo, tennis has never been a sport that’s excited me, but this s*** had me at the edge of my seat.

You’re right on the money
he was playing well but when it was revealed Patrick was holding back during the game, if he started trying Art would’ve been packed up. Giving him that signal about him and Tashi woke the lion in him. He even said to Art earlier when they’re sharing churros that he loves seeing him competing with him over Tashi cause of how passionate he became. That’s what made that electric energy in that last match

And in the end that’s all Tashi wanted “good f***ing tennis”
There’s that line near the beginning where she says tennis is like making love. And she always positioned them two in that space from the make out, to the phone number, to the situation that led to the ending. I went back to read the ending of the script and it reads: “while the men play the best tennis of their lives we stay on Tashi. Her anxiousness turns to exhilaration. She’s playing as Art, playing as Patrick, playing as the ball. The ball hits the net and it’s unclear who won even as the crowd cheers and Tashi yells out Come on”
She got what she wanted

Can’t wait for my rewatch on Monday so I can see how she plays them from the start like a game of tennis. This movie is so good
As long as I’m Karen a free ticket in the end

yea
Zendaya did some intense acting with her eyes during that one scene where Patrick proposes she coach for him, could immediately feel that "are you f\*\*\*ing kidding me" type of anger boil underneath
