HBO: 'We Are Who We Are' Not Returning for Second Season
Casey Bloys, HBO and HBO Max's Chief Content Officer: "Luca Guadagnino is off doing other projects, so I don't know. There are no plans at the moment for Season 2."
Not entirely surprising, in fact, I'm glad there isn't a second season in the works right now. I hope Luca does revisit this 5-10 years down the line. I’d love for him to focus and explore the passage of time and what that does to a person, specifically young love and how something so delicate and innocent can shape who you turn out to be.

yea Luca bout to put out a lot of work between now and 2023. Was always a fan of the whole miniseries idea over having more seasons

sometimes I sit and randomly think about the events that took place in that empty house
that episode was like the perfect median between climax and lovers rock

ngl I would be extremely in for a sequel set in Japan but at the same time I wouldn't be mad if they never make one either because the one season is already such a great standalone project
is this show worth watching big fan of director and heard cudi is in this too
yey yes yes
just finished the last ep what a perfect ending.
Shout out to everyone who was behind this project, you can really tell this was made with so much care and passion. Luca Guadagnino continues to impress me with how much honesty he directs. So many times throughout the show i was mindblown with how accurate some of the scenes are, captured in such a natural and human way (little things), made it so relatable
Also just wanted to point out how the sound design in this gives so much life to the images, so important.
There were maybe 1 or 2 episodes that were not as great as the rest (especially some scenes were it was not focused on the kids) but overall this was CRAZY good
Last episode is perfect too. As much as i want a season 2 i'm pretty happy with how this ends
Thankful for this type of quality content being made mainstream
Classic show that I can’t wait to rewatch in the summer
yea I can't wait to come back to this, hope to see more side characters from this in other shows too!

Original release was intended to be in summer too I know it’ll hit crazy during those summer nights
The vibes of this show are impeccable
I honestly just want to see Guadagnino make a bunch of shows with this style set in different places
I can’t tell if cudi’s acting is kind of awkward and stilted but it’s really adding to his character seeming kind of scary and unhinged

He’s intentionally cold in this
