Tracks like this were exciting and showcased a distinct washed out, dark RnB style. It was a breath of fresh air to the usual warm aesthetic of the genre.
As his career progressed, he seemed to show less interest in being innovative and orginal and more obsessed with just reaching the largest audience possible
With the exception of a few bursts of brilliance here and there, this mans music lost its lustre and just became boring
