My older brother who used to s*** on Wayne a lot and clown me for having him as my favorite rapper told me with disappointment that Wayne dropped a better album than Lupe lol.

People erase that friend of the people , enemy of the state both proved it was never a rapping issue . Dropped around same time it was a label issue . Lupe always fed fans with free content but Atlantic doesn’t give a f*** about mixtapes they want to make returns . The less they make in returns the more creative freedom they take . The cool food and liquor Persians youth still clear most discogs
Food and liquor 2 was so tampered with and was never intended to be a sequel but again Atlantic .

Then they tanked the marketing on purpose with the jumbled mess they literally created, and even when Lupe was trying to compromise with them they still weren't having it even tho his projects beforehand did good to great and they signed him knowing what he was already about

His career could have easily been burnt out and more importantly his name and image but that mixtape run and T&Y showed he still really out here
I'm not even a huge Lupe fan myself although I respect him and always liked him but T&Y one of my fav Rappers projects ever, not just in his discog - and I think it's one of the best examples of doing " "real" " Rap while retaining a more mainstream or traditional sound BUT still even experimenting with sounds and stricture within that box
Madonna, Chopper and Deliver I heard outside too and blasting in CA, NV and AZ, the states I frequent and have fam n friends in
