And after listening to On Faux Nem. While I do like it as a closer, I still prefer Mural Jr. as the BEST closer on a Lupe album.
This is a GREAT edition to his discography. Is it his best work?
Hard for me to say it now, but for now no. That title still belongs (IMO) to Drogas WAVE.
If I were to rank it:
1) Drogas WAVE
2) The Cool
3a) Tetsuo & Youth
3b) Drill Music in Zion
5) Food & Liquor
6) Food & Liquor II: TGARA
7) Drogas Light
8) LASERS

Better than FL ššš
why hasn't the world seen a Lupe x Shabazz Palaces collab yet
We need that
Ishmael butterfly too talented
Lupe needs to lock in with a single producer for an entire album. I always feel like sonically all of lupes recent projects have felt incohesive. Like a Lupe album produced by No ID would go nuts
This IS produced entirely by one person.
He had to have planned this in advance when he did the first Mural, but Ms. Pacman was released in the same month Lupe was born, February 1982.
Idk if thread just had my expectations too high but I feel like you guys gassed this
I'm midway thru Ms Mural rn and this album isnt touching Drogas so far for me
Why you on KTT posting instead of just listening to the album all the way through smh. Give it your full attention.
"If you had to paint the gutter, which color would you choose?"
Said the patron to the painter, the painter said, "The blues"
incredible writing
Ghoti is so f***ing good.
"povert pimping
angel wings, with flies all over their face"

Better than FL ššš
Don't take the ranking seriously. I don't know where I'd put it at the moment. It's really an offhand ranking.
It could go down at 5, but that's it.
I just don't see it passing The Cool or WAVE
The drill is from Zion in the matrix
Was never supposed to be a drill album
Nah he just named it a bad title for anyone who isnāt a hardcore lupe fan lol
Thatās the only part I wonāt give him a cop out
He originally said ādrill music in Zionā in a freestyle meaning chiraq drill music
He changed the meaning abstract view of it afterwards
But yeah Iām not surprised people expected drill beats he could of just named it Music in Zion and accomplished the same thing with the title

"I actually pulled it from The Matrix Reloaded, so it started out as referencing that scene where the robots drill down into Zion. The last place where humanity can live and survive in the Matrix world, they call it Zion. I think my sister does a better job than me of explaining it."
