Man, what a fantastic listen!
Incredible album
This is one of my favorites he’s ever done
He’s as sharp as ever on this. I just can’t even begin to comprehend this dudes skill level as a writer man and the fact that this was done in 3 days?!?!?

Mainstream been giving him his flowers with this album though, s*** even this one guy said all his friends who didnt care about Lu texted him about the album
Makes me happy to see him getting this much love, normally in the past it'd almost always be 50% hate

Jun 25, 2022this is def his most concise work in a long time, great production, lupe is also at top shape writing wise. i have no idea what autoboto is doing on here though. feels completely out of place to me and was a complete misrepresentation of the rest of the album as a single. i also wasnt a huge fan of Nayirahs vocals tbh but thats personal opinion

drill music is a product of poverty, oppression and gang violence
zion is considered the kingdom of heaven.
drill music wouldnt exist in zion. thats why we get all these strings, brass and horns on the album. religious/spiritual production. while he does talk about the topics but he hits harder on this type production. imagine him doing that over uk drill beats. wouldnt work

Aside from the matrix thing, there were also interviews and articles where he explained that a major theme of the album is about drill music in Chicago, and drill rappers dying too much.
I guess it's confusing for people that weren't following the rollout at all, but he did mention multiple times that it wouldn't be drill music (but instead themes about drill music), so not really on him.
The singles were giveaways too
It's a commentary on the rap scene (currently Drill as top most popular sound)
Where it is an oxymoron as he says they represent a lot of negative things, imagine that in heaven? While critiquing them and ideas about heaven/religion, that he himself needs to do better if going to heaven.
The matrix reference is basically saying Drill will reck our Zion (heaven) as stuff like rappers die too much is often made romantic with them going to heaven. But he is reiterating that no, many will go hell and the life style they promote in Drill music is actually still dangerous and sad it produces many deaths.
