I remember Add-2 wanted Lupe to feature on one of the songs on his last project, but maybe engineering part of the album is a step closer to getting that feature. Wonder if they'd even met before this.

It’s just a microcosm of what I mean as far as the label

I don’t mean the label dictated everything lupe did. But this guy needs someone to go behind him and polish/clean up the ideas that he has so it works. If he still wants to be in the music business or if he even considers himself in the music business. I guess he’s just making art now instead of actual music people want to hear

But this question you ask is just another thing. Like why confuse your listeners just for the sake of naming it some random. All caps AUTOBOTO, think Kendrick did the all caps titles with DAMN is that what he’s going for idk

But yeah just stuff like that and this single choice and overall song just makes me feel like lupe doesn’t know how to market his music best or care but hey like I said this music is meant for a specific diehard part of his fanbase it’s cool but unfortunately not for me I don’t think

Song concept breakdown thoughts:

Autobots are the protagonists in Transformers.

Lupe is showing how he needs transform into different modes in his career.

As carrera means career/race. Him as an autobot hero transforms into a Porser Carrera in the race of life?

Him repeating ERA may show its a different era for him now.

The verse talks on gangs, vice Lords and crips and bloods. With the idea of Autobots and Deceptacons being rivals in a fight. In the theme of Drill music and drill rappers dying in in gang violence. Him as a autobot transforming in his career to bring a way out of negativity in Chicago, making it like Zion.

AUTOBOTO many be used instead of Autobot because Lupe don't want to get sued and have a court case. Haaa.

Just some thoughts.

I like the signals from the source line too.
Getting insight from God? Autobots getting signals from space.

And the ghost writing wordplay. But sounds like him writing for himself but wanting more credit for what he has done.
