First listen was interesting, gonna need to listen to again at midnight
Looking forward to the lossless version with proper transitions at midnight
Only song I'm not crazy about is Ghoti. I don't really get what purpose it serves. Seems to be like all the IG loosies where he just raps for a couple minutes.
It's not bad, though.
i dig it overall. short and sweet. not blown away or anything tho. feels more digestible and easy to keep playing which is what you need to do with a lupe album to get everything
am i tripping or did he had the chick singing at the end of autoboto? dont remember that at all when peeping it as a single

Autoboto is unchanged. Single version had it too.

Fish is a christian symbol, maybe related to the biblical story of Jesus feeding 5,000 peopled with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. His disciples were called fishers of men and it was also a way for believers to meet in secret to avoid persecution. The song also references Adam and Eve taking the forebidden fruit from the devil in the form of a snake.
Still trying to put it all together, but I think the backwards phrasing of “catching bait with fish” is key. It reminds me of the riddle that Lyor Cohen gave Lupe about jokingly putting his masters in a suitcase and how Lupe wasn’t smart enough to read between the lines at the time. Both Ghoti and Autoboto seem to present Lupe at his most immature age in the album, where he believed his only was to stay in Chicago until he dies and he coincidentally has lines like that in some of those Arista-era songs. It’s backwards to think like that, like some archaic wordplay from the 1800s, but you live and you learn. He hits a turning point at the end of Precious Things and Lupe is no longer just a fish trapped in the pond forever. Eventually, channeling the feeling of escape into his art on Ms. Mural.
Definitely an amazing album. A tad short but maybe that's for the best (hoping the rumored 3 bonus tracks in August is true).
Ms Mural has my fave beat of all the Murals.
On Faux Nem is best album outro he's ever had.
There's a few moments that are among the best Lupe has had.
Very satisfied.
Better than Mural Jr.????
I'm listening tomorrow btw. Also I assumed the "l" happened? (don't want to listen to it now btw)

I like the mural jr beat on its own a little more, but this beat suits his flow and style a lot better. So the overall song sounds better imo

I was really meaning for closing songs, not so much on the Murals

As an outro, yeah, I think so. On Faux Nem fits really well and its an emotional song.
Mural Jr is amazing though. If you were to compare them individually, you'd probably think Mural Jr is better, though.

I guess we'll have to see when I listen to this tomorrow

I thought a lot of y’all wasn’t f***ing with Mural Jr because of the beat lol.
I’m hoping Ms Mural is better than Mural Jr because I thought Mural Jr didn’t live up to the hype of the first one
