"Deceivingly discussing sneaker culture, the lead track reveals a greater tie to recent events in the United States carried by jazz tones. Strategically placed in between Lupe’s expressive verses, Abloh describes the hypothetical design behind shoes that Ahmaud Arbery was wearing when he was murdered. Revealing the emotion that fuels his creations, the multifaceted creative details the relationship between the important design and the Black struggle."

Damn...... Lupe a genius as always

i like the production a lot (on SHOES), but i'm not sure how to explain it, i feel like lupe's vocals are good on their own but don't match the instrumental? I'm not sure how to explain it. they almost sound like they come from separate songs and just happen to match. the weird virgil interpolation is annoying. should have just been intro/outro or something. will listen to the rest of the EP though, fresh Lupe is always welcomed

seems like the whole EP is heading that way too (based on the producer's other work). about to get a classic out of nowhere
