Because, the greater the amount of folk who take the vaccine, the stronger the herd immunity is for those who cannot or are unable to take it.
One person who doesn't take it turns to two which turns to four which turns to sixteen which turns to sixty-four and on and on until half the population refuses to take the vaccine, putting those who are at risk at a higher degree of contracting COVID than if they just took it.

That's not how that works lol with the global world we live in. If it was back in the 1300's then maybe, but we have packed cities and countries with so much travel. Vaccines accelerate the process of us being immune because we get infected with the disease.

Probably because the flu is also deadly so if the goal was to save lives why not put those resources towards the flu aswell

Lockdowns did that. Not the virus. We didnt have to lock down
Flu has too many strains and mutations to have a single vaccine.

There will be a period of time where not every single person will have access to the vaccine - hence those who refuse vaccination put those people at risk. Whether that’s in the local community or in the context of developing countries that likely won’t get mass vaccination for years
