Lupe is the best rapper ever in my opinion. Here are a few names of rappers I believe who have influenced Lupe's style over the years. And for some what aspects. Please add to or comment on the list.
Nas: lyricism and conceptual tracks e.g I gave you power, rewind
Mos Def: flow cadence and subject matter approach
Rakim: masterful flow, lyricism subject matter (the beginning of Murals reminds me of the mystery by Rakim)
Biggie: flow and punchlines
AZ
Jay-Z complete production
Linkin Park: raps, mood/energy and instrumentality
Tupac: phrases and concepts- heaven for a Gangster, Mary stuff.
Coldplay: singing, emotional
Unkle: alternative approach
Prodigy: energy
Ragtime: signing and melody (does a lot of improv singing on streams and podcast, sounds very ragime)
Has referenced Big Pun on SLR. I suppose his puns and double entendre. (I do know much about Big Pun)
Busta Rhymes: presence in performance live
Homeboy Sandman: ultra intricated and unorthodox flows
Competition: Lil Wanye (from mixtape days. Not getting recognised as the best rapper he is)
Eminem (made him want to scrap albums)
Kendrick.
King Los (freestyle wise)
Edits:other suggestions
Radio head- abstractness
Doom - unorthodox aspects or vivid and unique imagery conveyed
I would never argue with someone that thinks Lupe is the best lyricist ever. Never.

This is not about him being the best.
Just his influences

The first sentence literally says he is the best lol. So I was sharing my opinion
Drogas Light sounds like a bad Drake album

Forgot that even exists and I hate you for reminding me
What aspect?
i'm too tired to find it right now, but lupe talked about how much he influenced him after he passed
particularly with certain phrasings / set ups iirc
definitely cited the line on mural about watching the world through eyeholes in my oil paintings as his best effort to reflect a DOOM line

I heard that too. Its kinda like a unique story telling setup or vivid imagery they pain with their rhymes
Lu said once on Twitter that Jay-Z influenced his style the most. When we wrote a verse live on clubhouse Justin Hunte said Lupe was sharing lyrical tricks he got from Jay:

Do you honestly hear Jay in Lupe? I dont. Lupe is way more dynamic and diverse imo

Haaa. On his podcast with Royce he said it made him want to trash an album he was doing when he heard Em's. In that context that makes you comment even funnier
