that's the album I mentioned was too sing songy for me lol felt like a LP album but without Chester vocals basically...there were a few highlights like the MGK cut and one or two others that had a more straight up hip hop vibe but otherwise it didn't feel that different from what they'd been doing
I see I see...lot of the songs sounded soft and yea gave LP vibes. I don't know if he'll put out anymore rap albums in the future as he recently released bunch of beats EP
Will we ever get artist of this caliber again?
Never
Something about Lupe
It's technically his solo, none of fort minors members were on it
Isn't Fort Minor literally just Mike Shinoda rapping and producing? The other guys featured on the album were Styles Of Beyond, and not Fort Minor members

basically if every song had sounded more like Lift Offf or IOU I woulda been more into it idk....I don't hate Mike's singing but I prefer rapping from him

certainly an argument you could make but then why didn't Shinoda ever follow up with another FM album? With or without them...Styles of Beyond did put out a double disc album a few yrs back that had Mike on production and I believe a feature or two from him but seems like it was just a one and done thing

Are the days of the highly intelligent concept rapper gone?!

He briefly brought back Fort Minor in 2015. Unfortunately, a single and a late night performance and not a second Fort Minor album
Also, in a Billboard interview, he clarified why he released Post Traumatic under his real name instead of the Fort Minor moniker.

"I just wanted to signal to people that it was a different sound and a different approach. I always wanted to signal that it was personal. Grief is a personal thing, a personal experience."
I think he said that he just never had any inspiration to do a full length rap solo but still woulda been fire IMO especially back in those days...I just really love the darker/grimier sound that Reanimation had...Fort Minor was fire too and is pretty underrated IMO...there were a few songs I liked on that most recent Shinoda album but too much sing songy stuff
Yeah, I was gonna say Post Traumatic, but that did have a lot of alternative songs. The hip hop joints like IOU and Running From My Shadow were nice tho.
I wish he would produce or do guest verses for more rappers. He did this beat last year which was nice
first album i saved
to my psp in 8th grade
what a time to be alive
That broke ass PSP browser was the only way I got music regularly for years lol
was such a breath of fresh air to me when I first heard it.
food and liquor was just on a different vibe than everything else in mainstream at the time.
