This CLASSIC came out half a decade today…
A quintessential hip/hop album of the 2010s and a landmark moment in which a SoundCloud rapper successfully transitioned into commercial success
For me, it’s aged beautifully, doesn’t sound a day old… It’s also a project he has yet to top (if he ever does)
Not only does it have some absolute anthems - Sauce it Up, 20 Min, XO, Neon Guts - the whole album is just engineered so meticulously it just fkn sounds great. Plus it packs an emotional punch - Feelings Mutual, (his best song) The Way Life Goes, Malfunction - you could tell he was really going through it with Brittany when he was making this … Perfect heartbreak album
Also R.I.P. Virgil who goated this album cover
i was in japan when this dropped so certain songs like the way life goes and neon guts remind me of the streets of tokyo when i listen to them
How to Talk and Feelings Mutual are some of his best work imo

That’s cool asf
Uzi was on top during this period
Really thought he had the game on lock for the future. It didn’t turn out that way
peak Uzi
it's the most mature and refined sound he's had, like the final evolution for his style. it's weird but it feels like he's declined creatively since then. maybe it's because of all the fans who were begging for "2016 Uzi" at this time.
I love this album but why does it feel like it’s only been like two years since it dropped

I’m inclined to agree
LIR2 seems to remain as his artistic peak
The lengthy Eternal Atake release, as well as the copious V1 leaks, really staggered his career.
And while I do really enjoy the EA we eventually got, and it’s a very cohesive album, it pales in comparison to the emotion & potency of LIR2
Let’s see what happens though, I might be proven wrong … P!NK TAPE coming soon
I never looked at it as a heartbreak album but it really is an Uzi classic with no skips
