Psychotic ass b****
Wait does that mean she used one with Lakeith?? Cus her character did more with him
just got out of the theater.
this was an extremely tough watch. from the initial trailer, I thought this was going to be focused more on the relationship between the couple. I had no idea this was going to be a deep character study on a woman with postpartum psychosis. J-Law acted on a whole new level for this film. she was absolutely outstanding in the role and gave one of the best performances of the year, hands down. besides the acting, the cinematography was breathtaking, really showcasing the beauty of the countryside. the nighttime shots as well were stunning. I would recommend others to go out and see this but I would advise there are multiple trigger warnings.
8/10
yes, i do want to watch a movie where Jennifer Lawrence sadly masturbates the whole time while crawling around like a cat
because i'm an advocate for mental health
the cinematography in this is beautiful
that shot at the beach?
sheeeeeesh
A very raw and visceral film. On a technical level, the cinematography is incredible and JLaw gives one of her best performances.
That said, dog lovers you're gonna wanna sit this one out
This movie has a D+ Cinemascore? It must be F***ED.
Need to see it, loved You Were Never Really Here.
Need to make time to see this
For those who have seen it, what’s the pacing like?

Personally I thought it was paced well up until the last third. Definitely could've wrapped up earlier than it did.

that dog needed to go and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves
Two issues I had:
1. It felt like it kept ending for at least 40 minutes. After she goes to therapy, which goes nowhere and culminates in a lame writer insertion moment where a doctor tells her she has attachment issues, the movie spins its wheels until it's over. Nothing new is revealed, but we get some cool shots and more of Jennifer Lawrence being crazy. Personally, I was relieved when it ended.
2. I never could get a handle on who Jennifer Lawrence's character was outside of her being a woman with postpartum depression (and much deeper issues, even though the reviews place all the blame on her pregnancy). What was she like before the pregnancy? What motivates her? What does she want for herself? They hint at these things, but the character is more of a bundle of quirks/ailments than a complete person. And like, yeah, that could be a commentary on women losing their agency and autonomy as new mothers, but it doesn't make the character any less of a cipher.
In any case, it was pretty decent. Great acting, cinematography, soundtrack, etc. and it touched on some valuable subject matter. But it had some flaws at the screenplay level.

Your first point is my main issue with the film. Genuinely awful pacing. There were five different instances where I thought it was wrapping up and credits were about to roll. I can’t believe the runtime was only two hours, it felt like five
night b**** it better this way too indulgent of a film felt like every character was moving in slo mo to how jennifer lawrences cdharacter was acting very early on it was clear she needed help but 1 hour later she still crashing out n everyone like 'she just needs time' it had no subtleness looked nice but a lot of films looked nice this year feels a bit like oscar bait n im sure they probably had fun while shooting it but i didnt belive alot of it jennifer's chacater looking like a a star actress in the southern(or wherever iut set reminded me of nowhere special where james nortan pretending he was disenfranchesed i just dont believe it you got too much filler/make up on whereas night b**** she looked like a run down mum so i could easily go with the story (and it was just writen much better had more subtlety and the relationships i believed) honestly might be my stinker of the year bad pacing even robert pattisons acting at times was bit mid its a sahme cos on papaer looks like a slapper but for a 1 hour 50 film felt very long and unrewarding hopeflly some mums like it and connect to it in a way they didnt for night b**** but its a no from me
Very eclectic movie. Very beautiful, acting was fantastic. I feel like I got a grip on the movie but I’m not sure. I’ll revisit in some months maybe
This movie made me jump more than any horror I’ve seen in theatres lmaoo. Soo loud and so many abrupt cuts to her smashing her face into glass and s***
jennifer lawrence and rob were both great acting wise but i couldn't help but feel disinterested the more this movie went on
oh well
my theater had four (4) walkouts! easily gonna be in my top ten of the year
one couple and another lady walked out during mine
