Just finished season 1, and Imma say I’ve never watched a show with this level of anxious energy and structured confusion before.
The 1st episode was really good, the attention to the setting really makes you appreciate the aesthetic of the 60’s. The next 3 episodes really set the tone and burn slow, but then episode 5
Wont spoil it but what a sharp turn in the narrative. Then it just ramps up and gets wild fast until the last few episodes. It feels like it lulls you to sleep (not in a bad way) and then throws some left field s*** at you.
Anyone who's watched, does it continue this dynamic?

I started watching a few years back and fell off. I need to start over. Yeah I definitely like the low chill energy that you mention. It isnt boring its just what I need when looking for something to vibe to
Alot of sexual tension too. Thats hot

lucky your watching for the first time. My first experience I knew I was going to try and binge the show
a top 3 show of all time, Don Draper is the best TV character of all time, Jon Hamm deserved more recognition. The cast too, incredible how Elizabeth Moss John Slatter and Vincent Kartheiser didnt win any major awards

It sucks that it ran concurrent with Breaking Bad, it was always overshadowed.
hot take: The pilot had some tropes that were kinda cliche and lowkey corny. The whole vibe is different from the entire series. Still a good episode tho, that ending is iconic.

yeah, Breaking Bad is very good too but people overrate it compared to other shows because of the action scenes (which are still amazing)
does it live up to the goat status everyone's placed on it
It's not top 1 IMO but definitely top 5

if you don't mind slow burning shows you will love it
top 3 show in my book.
