    yeah, nothing more than that

    hes a rhetorical opportunist

he says s*** like this than rails against trans ppl and “marxists”

both him and desantis are just going to try to outflank each other from convenient positions

The ignorance of white people as a group is deadass astounding at this point.

Absolutely, just to boost his ratings and nothing more. At the same time though I can't say I'd much rather have Trump at the forefront over DeSan(azi)tis.

No, Trump supporters (and Trump himself even less) literally do not care about any specific policy or position or ideology. As long as Trump remains a vehicle for them to say "fuck you" to their enemies, they will continue to support and vote for him.

Honestly this is DeSantis' problem vis-a-vis Trump: he doesn't inspire the same fear and anger in his opponents, or rather in the elites and institutions and what have you that Trump voters dislike, so even if he aligns perfectly with them politically and Trump is further away, it would be hard for him to gain voters away from Trump, although they would vote for him in a general election.

this is because desantis is a flat tire with no personality who gets all of his policy from his constituents either obsessed with twitter or imbued with a bloodthirst to bomb foreign countries
desantis inspires typical ire from opposition but it's not really centered around him becausehe himself doesn't bring anything new or special to the table by means of policy or personality

In some weird way even reddit "leftists" (neo-liberals who indulge in leftist thinking as long as it doesn't hurt their way of life) are rooting for Trump now lmao he's about to draw them in
