You guys are tripping Vol 1-3 and BP3 are all good albums
Vol 2 was even considered a classic upon release for its impact
Vol.2 is easily one of my favorite Jay albums

People tend to think if the album isn’t a classic it’s trash lol or if it’s underwhelming then it’s complete garbage
And yea Vol 2 damn near a classic. Niggas forgetting about the singles on there. Plus A Week Ago, the intro Reservoir Dogs, It’s Alright. That’s over half the album. There’s no way it can be considered trash
For sure, all those albums will never be seen as great music.
Vol 1.2.3 all classics
Well both are seen as mid albums at best
Same with BP2, 3, Vol 3, The Dynasty
Vol 1-2 are mid to me as well personally speaking
None of the Vol series is mid and neither is Dynasty
BP2 and 3 were def average though
I like it bro. Never got the hate nor will I ever. Just Hov tryna do some different s***
Looking back I think it had a lot to do with expectations. WTT era was an amazing period, Ye dropped Yeezus a month before which was brilliant and then we had MCGH with a trailer full of mega producers and thus an enormous hype. I doubt all that hype was met for anyone when it dropped. That generated a lot of hate I guess
And if we're being honest it's not his best work either so I can understand people being underwhelmed
Vol 1.2.3 all classics
Not a fan of the series.
3 def isn't a classic, to say 1 is a classic you have to kinda reach. 2 hasn't stood the test of time which proves it ain't a classic.

Jay has me lost after RD up until BP
That's where he gets good again to me

I’d consider Vol 1, 3, BP3, Dyansty all good to great album not classics
Mid albums are BP2 & MCHG
Then Kingdom Come bad
MGHG felt like Hov was trying to be Ye
This is low-key true. He tried to go in that artistic vibe direction
Then you have the R. Kelly albums, the Linkin Park album and The Carters album. Duds for days.
Eh, the LP thing was just a mashup. No original music.
Jay has me lost after RD up until BP
That's where he gets good again to me
Vol 1 could’ve been the perfect follow up to RD
Intro
Where I’m From
Who You Wit
Imaginary Players
Friend or Foe 98
Rap Game/Crack Game
Lucky Me
Vol 2 - refer to my post on the last page
Vol 3 probably my least favorite in the vol series but got so many bangers. It’s hard to gauge now bc we’re so far removed from the sound but it got
Hova Song intro/outro
So Ghetto
Do It Again
Big Pimpin
Come and Get Me
It’s Hot
NYMP
Dopeman
Again, that’s like half the album
Dynasty got
Intro
I Just Wanna Love U
1-900-Hustler
Can’t Be Life
Stick 2 the Script
You, Me, Him, and Her
I don’t think this is peak Hov overall but I enjoy it a lot. I think delivery wise it’s my favorite era from him. He was so cool back then. Nigga turned 30, threw away his throwbacks and didn’t know how to act lmao

Volume 3 is HOV's most underrated album
I’d consider Vol 1, 3, BP3, Dyansty all good to great album not classics
Mid albums are BP2 & MCHG
Then Kingdom Come bad
Vol 1 damn near great
Dynasty and Vol 3 good/above average
BP2, MCHG, BP3, and KC all average
kingdom come average but has great highs, bp2 is too long with not enough stand out tracks for it to deserve two discs. I'd put those below MCHG

I feel you. Every album had a few great songs, but as an artist he just wasn't all the way there imo. Still an important era bc it made him the star that everyone knows today.
Then you have the R. Kelly albums, the Linkin Park album and The Carters album. Duds for days.
The Carters not a dud sir
Jay has me lost after RD up until BP

so many classic songs u s***ting on here with this post

Plenty of artists have a few good songs per album.
