    the thing that shocked me was how big this moment was for cole... with drake and travs projects finally dying down and kendrick being absent for years, it was really the perfect opportunity. This, the A Lot music video coupled with what was happening with 21 savage, and the NBA All-Star weekend performance really made it one of the biggest rap moments of the last decade. Probably top 3 in the last 5 years imo

    i forgot the article or interview, but when cole came out during either kendricks tour stop in detroit (i think in 2017?), he wanted to recreate a track/anthem like no role modelz after failing to do so and seeing kendrick do it with almost the entire DAMN. album. I'll look for the interview but I think it was solely a hit to be a hit
