Cavill had his own trilogy, idk why people are so against a new Superman now .
I think we are overdue for someone new to take the role
I'd agree if his screen time and dialogue weren't dramatically squished down lol.
I know Cavill droppin a few n-bombs during his gaming sessions hearing this news @SUPERMAN
I mean wouldn't be surprising to see people promote BLM with one face then be racist with the other face lol.
Him and Gina Carano were a thing though
👀👀

If you’re referring to white washing, then we ain’t f***ing with that either
Superman, Batman, etc are all original white characters
The answer ain’t to just minority wash em. People should create new characters that can become iconic
How we got more iconic minority characters from the 90s and 00s than the 10s or 20s from this “woke” era?
What i shouldve said was pandering to white eyes is why certain characters got pushed to the front and got more attention and support.
Even when brand new characters are added that aren't white it's still considered pandering whether due to timing or cultural relevance etc

I mean growing up during the era of great black characters like Blade, Morpheus, Storm, Mace Windu, Frozone, etc. I didn't hear anyone calling that pandering
Really love Coate’s BP and Cap runs, he’s gonna bring something fresh to the table for sure.

Actually good point
though Storm is a weird case due to Halle but you right.
But I also didn't have the same social media access to other's opinion so my experience is more modern minus the phrase token being used on other Black characters
Please change the tone for these new Superman films. I'd love to see a more friendly and thoughtful Kal-el
No hate to Cavill though, I'm just not a big fan of Synder's interpretation of Superman
I guess it's cool they tried something different
But when he watched his dad die that s*** just made me not interested in it . Idk why I just took a strong dislike from that moment. And it's not like I gaf about them staying true to the comics or anything

Prolly my least favorite scene. I get the theme of it but I skip it any time it comes up
This.
Keep that black Superman. Give me a Static Shock movie
Bruh a static shock movie done right with a great great director would be f***ing amazing

yeah same tbh. like in what universe if u could move at the speed of sound would u just watch your dad die for no reason???
Stop the pandering bs. Use black characters. I want blue marvel for Marvel and Icon for DC

WB would rather reboot superman and batman for eternity

i mean I feel a lot of black roles nowadays could still fit in that description of "token". Its even moreso fitting now because often times they just put a black character in for diversity sakes like with Kong Skull Island or even the new Star Wars movies considering Finn legit became a glorified token character.
While the 90s and 00s were by no means great for black representation, there were so many more iconic black characters whether leading or supporting
nowadays, theres like zero effort put into making compelling characters
They gotta find and cast a new talented black actor for this to work.
And the guy gotta go on to become a Denzel type figure.

not that I think they should but I could see JDW getting casted

He’s the only one that could get me on board for this...

I don't think this is fair, they didn't get made in a fickle social media era. You remember how people acted when Finn appeared in 1 frame in that Star Wars trailer? He was an original character not black Luke or Obi Wan but someone completely new and got shat on anyway before the movie dropped.
