I personally dont think that the main issue in BVS was having too many characters. I think the issue was that it was trying to be multiple movies all in one film.

It was MOS 2, A solo Batfleck movie, Death of superman, and a mini Justice League/Trinity movie.

Thats great indiviual movies on their own they just did all in one go.

Was a bit of both for me . Batman v Superman just needed Batman and Superman . Not even Lex cause Lex plot was kind of done oddly . You can just have countries fighting you don’t need Lex orchestrating the war in the case of Superman 2025 or Bvs. You can just have him profit from it . No doomsday needed f*** clones fighting. No justice league tease needed so early . S*** not even justice gang just focus on humanity
