superman man of tomorrow is kinda clunky
i think man of tomorrow is kinda hard personally
Nah I mean remove the Man of Tomorrow entirely lol. Like it can be there during the film but it’s an interesting choice for the title itself
I feel like they’re better off publicly doubling down on the “Superman” title immediately, particularly business wise. Wouldn’t be shocked if they kept this as is but none of these first two Super-films films kept the OG title yet and both made good choices not to

It’s 2025 man can we stop dumbing down titles for audiences
The most beloved Batman film ever made doesn’t even have Batman in the title and nobody was confused
Man of Tomorrow is an excellent title

Figured i was getting TDK as a response lol. Its a good example but not quite my point. I'm not arguing fan confusion and TDK is one of Batman's most famous nickname and a part of the title to arguably his most famous comic.
TDK was the first of the Nolan films most fans actually saw in theaters and when it was a hit what did they do after that? Doubled down on the title, making the already famous nickname the name of the trilogy itself. That's the title that actually sold tickets and was the franchise
Unless Man of Tomorrow is now the franchise like Man of Steel tried to be I just personally think leading with Superman works better. Again, won't be surprised if keep it and im already locked for opening weekend again.

Boiling the success of TDKR down to the titling is a massive oversimplification and it assumes that most audiences don’t understand anything about an upcoming movie other than its title. Superman was a hit, people are going to be tuning into the sequel regardless of what it’s called
2025 - creature commandos, superman, peacemaker
2026 - supergirl, clayface, lanterns
2027 - man of tomorrow, batman 2
the gunn dont jam
It’s so lit

Okay...Im not sure how you drew a different interpretation to what I typed. Where did I attribute anything (??) to the success to TDKR? I didn't even mention the success of that film. I meant TDK selling tix
You're still stuck on the fan confusion idea which I already said wasn't my point. Its a franchising argument, especially when its already "The Superman Saga." I personally just think Superman or "Super___"should be your lead in to it right off the tracks of Superman. I think Supergirl similarly got rid of the similar moniker for a reason even tho it'll likely be a core theme in the story

Back in the 80s, Empire Strikes Back was not marketed as Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

As long as the ads and trailers evoke the imagery from the first film it’s not going to be hard for audiences at all to figure out that this is a sequel.
Superman gets a sequel after 2 years
meanwhile Shang Chi is 4 years old and its sequel is on indefinite hold

That s***s dead. Director got an Avengers film and went that fell through jumped to Spider-Man.

James Gunn’s Superman Trilogy. That’s all we gotta call it

"Star Wars" was retroactively altering film titles mid-trilogy though. There's a reason why it eventually released as "Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back" and the 1979 film was altered to "Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope" on its rerelease. They were the ones having to experiment with building blockbuster franchises of this sort. I’m not worried about fan confusion
The trailer also immediately has a narrator telling audiences its a Star Wars film within the first 3 seconds.
I argued myself on both of these points before ever posting here. Gunn knows more than I do tho so whatever he decides its likely best.
Although the film will continue their rivalry and feature Lex as an antagonist, rumors suggest they will also join forces as well. Although unverified, sources also tell NPN, that Supergirl (Milly Alcock), Lobo (Jason Momoa), and Peacemaker (John Cena) will have roles in the film as well.
