lol idk how are biggest rumours are Kim and Mount. both good players, and both players we don't really need. strange
Kim’s a massive need.
Lisandro and Varane are absolutely world class but if we lose one of them, it’s over.
Maguire is Maguire and Lindelof, while apparently being the “ice man” is absolutely terrible. Never seen a defender so scared of winning a header
One can dream
Yep. A new keeper would make it a worthwhile signing
If not it’ll be another casualty to DDGs nightmare, where he’ll have to play well in spite of that Spanish twat
This Antony story is so odd.
Obviously not gonna jump to conclusions, needs more context.

My logic is, and has been: when you get the opportunity to sign a player of standout quality, at a reasonably discounted price, and with no competition, then you just gotta do it, especially at this stage of our rebuild.
It's the same thing I said when some were debating Casemiro last summer. You just can't turn it down. Even when it looked odd given him and De Jong are not similar style players, you just can't turn down a player of that quality who actively wants to join, and at that price.
If we can get Mount for about 50m, then it'll be a great deal. Cause you can spend that 50m on another midfielder, who might be perceived to be a better fit, but they won't be of the same quality overall, nor will they have the same top flight football experience. And yeah his contract is up in another year, but there's nothing to say he won't renew between then and now, or suddenly Madrid, etc. want in cause now he's available on a free and we lose out.
Same with Kim, at that price point it's a no brainer. Even though yeah we have Varane and Martinez and you would think we would just need a reasonably decent-good backup defender. But if you can get Kim then get him. He's a standout player and will far exclipse any defender we could buy for less. The competition will help, and having elite players will help.
The immediate leadership and mentality and professionalism and consistency these types of players can provide is always worth going for.
Selling Maguire to Spurs which subsequently results in Kane staying there would be an ultimate Manchester United moment.

Will we ever get a rest
Tactically Mount works, or hopefully should work, because the inverted full back tucks into midfield and that allows Mount to move further up. With Casemiro there you have that world class defensive lynchpin. Mount's defensive value comes in his energy and pressing ability - which is where Eriksen has faltered. It's not about him winning the ball back with tackles/interceptions, but forcing errors when out of possession.
We're moving into a high energy pressing, possession machine.
Ragnick will live on.

Well said
City have done it, they have a bench full of world class midfielders, defenders etc
No one in the squad or any squad is irreplaceable so bring it on

After reading more, it should be over for him if true.

Isn’t he accused of doing some s*** in Brazil whilst playing for United on the same day? Can’t make sense of it.

That’s the headline. Apparently there’s 4 previous instances of physical abuse and then on May 20th (the day of the game) he made a death threat over the phone. That’s when the police report was filed.
I can take United being completely s*** and making insane purchases, but replacing an abuser with another potential abuser and then a summer of contemplating bringing back the first abuser (who wears the #11) is GRIM. Not even fully blaming the club or making judgements yet but tough to think about talking ball when you have s*** like that looming as a possibility

Sold me on it, fair enough. But what if it takes resources away from CM and ST is the concern.

i think the accusation is multiple counts of assault before that day and a death threat over the phone on that day

No physical assault happened in São Paulo, he verbally assaulted her over the phone — in which the victim alleges he threatened to kill her.
This is staggering stuff. The stuff about the Manchester United doctors seeing her sickens me.
