I actually think it makes sense to make it permanent especially if Casemiro is gone. we need at least 4, ideally 5 midfielders if we're gonna do this 4-2-3-1 shape or 4-2-2-2 thing from yesterday. mainoo is the obvious. Casemiro is gone prob. eriksen is way too slow. so you need to purchase 3 mids, might as well get a known quantity with amrabat thats down to be a backup for hopefully a proper holding midfielder we purchase.

I agree, we have to be realistic - i do believe we will see the biggest clear out that we have been screaming for but that doesn’t mean every signing we make will hit the ground running and we won’t sign as many as we sell. So if we can get someone like Amrabat (now we know can perform in the right system) for cheap then it makes sense
