Surely the 30m pure PSR profit from Greenwood and some money for the "ice man" lindelof would do most of the lifting here

I hope these blokes haven’t forgotten the biggest problem at the club: our midfield.

If old man Case is out there on August 16, we’ll be losing Yoro to Madrid by next June.

it makes sense for Leny Yoro to be signing if he's been promised first choice right sided centre back, so I don't think De Ligt would be willing to come to be second choice, maybe another young right sided centre back to be back up 🙏

I’m surprised nobody has gone in for guys like Antonio Silva or Diomande or Scalvini.

Scalvini in particular impressed me a lot when I saw a couple serie a games.

Yeah probably true. That’s why I think keeping Maguire is good. He seems to be cool with being 3rd choice.

I don't mind Maguire playing alongside Martinez but our defence really falls apart without Martinez, Yoro and Evans (God forbid Evans and Maguire) is not a partnership I want to see, we need more quality back up

Get ugarte or better and I’ll be happy. Malacia / AWB fixes can wait until next summer.

Yeah you may be right. In that case we gotta keep Maguire and somehow bring in de ligt still.

I like De Ligt but at his age I don't think he'd be so keen on signing to be second choice unless there's lots of rotation planned, another young centre back makes more sense to me, we definitely need to sign someone and if he's happy to come in with rotation in mind I'd be very happy

Well to me Maguire is a good backup to yoro. Problem is we need a Licha backup that will be happy doing that role.

Still feel like De Ligt was the better option tbh. His age, top level experience, profile and sharing the same Ajax education with Licha and Onana is too good to pass up. More comfortable with going to war with that than a highly rated Uber eats Ligue 1 teenager.

There’s no way this Lory guy was bought as a starting cb right? We’re playing at least 60 games this season with the Europa League, there is no way we’re letting an 18yo start more than 30. What if we come to the conclusion after 3 games that he’s not PL level yet, we’d be back to playing with Maguire as a starter. De Ligt is a necessity

    Yoro is €50m + €12m add ons, or £41m + £10m.

    Branthwaite offer is/was £45m + £5m

Greenwood is going to cook in france. depending where they use him and how far forward (cause he is a playmaker too imo).

    great signing for Marseille.

yeah idk s*** about Yoro. other than in FM as usually highest potential CB and that nxgn ranking thing having him like 10th on their list back in March.

  • Jul 17, 2024

On the other hand Licha and Varane together was cash money so if Yoro is the closest thing to Varane in the sport… I can’t be too mad at it

That would only work if they sell Maguire surely?

I’m not against that but selling him always has the same stumbling block (his wages), so I don’t think it’ll happen.
