Pretty much all of them were born and raised in France, I don't understand why we draw the line there. Kane's father is Irish, several other England players have Irish ancestry on paternal and maternal sides, you'll never hear a chant about how their father was born in Galway or Cork.
If someone's born somewhere and grows up there I don't see how you can have a problem with them identifying themselves as that nationality. Joel Embiid is an exception though.

There is (genuinely) no benefit of the doubt to be provided to like 99% of Argentinians. The song is racist and transphobic. Consider the last line of the song which refers to “their documents”. The insinuation of the song is that these players are not French but they are actually ‘African’ and therefore worthy of derision.

If the song was simply about the French team being made up of players whose families immigrated to France, why isn’t Griezmann part of the song? Or Theo Hernandez?

If the intention of the song was simply to insult the footballing nation of France, the song wouldn’t be paired with homosexual and transsexual statements of derision.

And lastly, the entire song itself is a contradiction — if the French NT being mass immigrants is such an issue, why do the Argentinians themselves not care that they all derive from Italian and German backgrounds?
