I think since March, he’s not been good. Biggest issue is his work rate and lack of desire to control a game. He never demands the ball.

I agree he has been poorly coached and he has some intrinsic flaws that you mention — needs to demand the ball more often; needs to increase the range of pass; is quite slow and laborious off the ball etc.

But your phrasing about him “falling off” is hyperbole.

I hope - pray - Amorim is a manager who prioritises midfield control and holding the ball more than the opponent. If he is, Mainoo will excel.
