With Zirkzee it’s a clear case that the league is too physical and too quick for him. I think he goes back to Serie Ass (hopefully sooner and not later) and plays in a front two becomes a 1 in 3 guy again. A 30m player through and through.

Hojlund is a weird one. Impressive tally in European matches, but he’s easily dealt with in the PL. I think there’s things to like about him but I just worry if he has that innate movement in his game to sniff out goals. People will berate the chance creation to defend him, but even when we do create chances and play well in matches he’s largely peripheral. He’s too busy jostling to try and score.

The most alarming stat about Hojlund is his shots per game. He’s in the bottom 2(!) percentile for shots per 90. Does he have it? Not sure he does.

I dont see any progress so far is my biggest point. maybe he knows it'll take a lot of time. im also dubious it can be done tho. and if he doesnt get the results, he won't get the time to overhaul the entire squad to fit into a system that is kinda bizarre.

Honestly was such a gamble of a signing. We did need reinforcements in that area but I wouldn’t have hated if they focused on getting a LB instead.
