idk why we're buying Mbeumo to begin with. so many other positions we're s*** at, AM is the only position we were fine with and have a lot of players that now need to be moved.

nah AMs in this system have to be physical, fast, and able to cut inside on their strong foot esp with how reliant it is on transitions. We didn't have a single player with those attributes hence the need for Cunha and Mbuemo

interesting perspective. sounds like amad is not the perfect profile for Ruben then.

I think he's perfect as a wingback but lacks the strength to be one of the 10s though he could def do a job and will probably get rotation minutes there

Antony realizing his potential is cool. good for him to show resilience mentally. yes I am subtweeting Jadon Sancho here.

Wouldn’t be United if recruitment targeted the right profiles

Yes, we’re famously very comfortable with scoring goals at the moment let’s leave the attack alone

Ā£34 million as well, he’d be a menace at LWB but we paid 4 mill less for Dorgu

Nothing wrong with Dorgu.. just wait and see

I remember making a joke a few weeks back about how Amorim’s only signing has been a flop, so I guess I’m part of the problem, but in truth I really don’t get why there’s been so much hate on Dorgu. Far from immaculate, but I don’t think it’s been a disaster.

And for whatever it’s worth (not much) I thought he was one of our better players at the very tail end of the season.

Yeah completely agree. He’s a raw 20 year old adapting to a league most of the other players with him can’t survive in.

Absolute beast of a player, constantly bombing back and forth.. not worried at all

He makes good runs and stuff but nothing from this season suggests he’s ready for the prem. Happy to be wrong though.

He was pretty good in the final, I’ll give him that.

Think you’re mad if you said you prefer him to Ait-Nouri or Kerkez, they’re much better at attacking and more technically gifted if we’re being real.

You’d be stupid to compare him to Ait-Nouri, unless you are comparing to 19-20 Ait Nouri.

Dorgu’s almost 3.5 years younger. Of course the argument of today vs potential is a strong one, but we’ve got a player in Dorgu.

I don’t necessarily agree with the entire wording of the tweet but this is a direct comparison:

    Grenouille

    Nunez had 30 G/A in 28 games

the thing with Gyok is that he’s had insane numbers in Championship as well before moving to Sporting so I wouldn’t be that afraid of that being a Liga NOS scam

definitely a thing that plays to his advantage so I see the vision for almost any prem team interested in him

    this is not an alt

Why tf is Cherki going to City man. Should be coming to us ffs, I think we should bid for him, also to put pressure on Brentford

honestly don’t think United have much more to offer to him at the moment compared to other contenders for his signature (besides maybe like overpaying on his wages). He’d have to be a fan i guess

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I almost like the position we’re in right now, players like Cunha who want to play for United are the sort we should be going after. We don’t have anything to offer really so attracting names will be for the love of the club and wanting to be the one who brought us to the top. Not overpaid bums who can get some UCL minutes because we scraped a top 4 finish or something.

I’ve got high hopes for the ongoing cultural shift.. just need to see some departures for that belief to continue

Players can get a good wage in better competitions than United can offer

Plus under Ineos our wage structure is nowhere near as crazy as it used to be. De Ligt took a pay cut to join us I think

Till the day we get relegated, we’re going to have the highest wages on offer in the league. Only city will rival that. Not sure he could have gone to many clubs, most don’t play with a 10 anymore. So I respectfully disagree he didn’t have many options.
