It’s so strange we scooped up Cunha and Mbuemo, both fantastic signings but then went all the way left field for Sesko - I guess it’s not that surprising given the state of the transfer market, and if we don’t get him, who else?

We have got to get the midfielder + keeper signings sorted ASAP. If they’ve had this master plan in place why is it taking so long and at one deal at a time? Also, wasn’t Vivell supposed to be the one driving Sesko and getting us a discount?

I think Seskoffender is a big risk but he’s much more proven at this stage than Hojlund was when we signed Hojlund.

Hojlund had one season in Europe’s top 5 leagues — only starting 20 Serie A matches! He was capped twice for Denmark before we signed him, and had played two CL pre-qualifier stage games for Sturm Gaz.

Sesko has two full seasons in the Bundesliga and has played 4 seasons in the CL. Sesko has been capped 41 times for Slovenia by the time he joins.

Like I say, a big risk, and I’m not convinced at all, but I think he’s a lot more proven and the Hojlund parallel isn’t accurate.

I genuinely think Hojlund was some form of laundering. There’s no way in hell that player should have cost what he did. It’s extremely dodgy that the guy behind it at this club now works for Atalanta too…
