It's a shame with Mainoo. I was watching clips earlier and remember when he broke through and he looks the absolute business.

I wonder why he's refused to sign a new contract for so long. It started before the Euros and still nothing was signed.

I think the fawning is a bit excessive, he's not Cristiano level the way some carry on but you'd want to see him given a go at least. I remember him being one of the mild standouts (if you could have any) from the god awful Grimsby performance

How is it a shame?? It’s literally the worst manager in our history bullying him into leaving. It’s not a shame, it’s shameless.

Not only that, but it’s what Mainoo represents.

The very essence of this football club has disintegrated in front of our own eyes and there’s still a portion of our fans who are content with this. It’s absurd.

Mainoo was one of the best sub 21 year old midfield talents in world football less than 12-18 months ago. Heck, he still is. But that’s not even the point.

Good luck convincing JJ Gabriel and other top Carrington talents to stick it out when they’re seeing what has happened to Mainoo, Rashford (told a 60 year old goalkeeper would play ahead of him), and even a bit of a silly c*** like Garnacho get the boot.

Some of it predates Amorim — McTominay, Alvaro etc.

But the bottom line is that two of the key pillars of this football club (youth players and wide attackers) are nowhere to be seen in this current regime. Sprinkle those onto the dog s*** sandwich we already have being all the losses and complete lack of attractive football and you can see why this is way more of a thing than some want to downplay it as.
