    Big Shame

Because he was the only realistic elite opion we could have gone for. He’s an all timer.

Anyone else is mediocre and has been tried before at this club.

How was he realistic if he doesn’t want the job?

The rumours were that he was not gonna extend his contract that runs out in 2027. Even back in February these rumours were already dismissed. Please give a link to where he said that.

Enrique even though he’d be ideal was always very improbable this summer. Very dumb thing to get yourself hung up on.

Only thing that matters now is, who is actually available and are they better than Carrick?

He made himself available and we did not bite whilst in the midst of a manager hunt.

    Piss poor ambition.

It was well documented weeks ago we have had conversations with him

Ineos love interviewing for new managers, they probably spoke to his neighbour too

You ever thought maybe he just doesn't want the job?

Kills me how bitter they are about Carrick man

Especially because they’re all failed managers

Didn’t even try any offer? That’s not good enough imo.

Got subbed the exact same way when I demanded we get Flick.

Telegraph reporting Iraola is the only other serious candidate next to Carrick.

Could we just… not have a manager next season? Is there a rule that says we have to have one?

  • Apr 30

it would probably be fair to say Iraola is a better manager than Michael Carrick but if we finish in a Champions League spot then it isn't an upgrade in terms of actual achievements as a manager

if we can't get a more accomplished manager then it's probably fine to stick with Carrick and keep building the squad

For the first time in how long things feel kind of stable at the club, you have to put that down to Carrick. He has brought everyone together, and it feels a sense of calm. I think you have to stick with Carrick even if let's say you gave him a 1 year deal to carry on steadying the ship while we rebuild the squad, see what he can do next year because let's be honest he has earned that opportunity at least and if it doesn't work out we look again next summer with ideally a better squad in place ready for the next man

    Moyes 2.0

    Got it

Also switching to Iraola isn’t guaranteed to work with our squad, I’d say it’s more of a gamble than sticking with Carrick.

If he goes to Chelsea he’ll be free in like a year anyway.

If we could get Lewis Hall for 50 mill or under would you guys take that? I know the price tag would be inflated bc Newcastle hate us but he’s a baller imo
