The 80m's was for Mateus Fernandes, just because you have that to spend on a specific player and it falls through doesnt mean you have that money to spend on anyone, this is a simple and reasonable business decision

You have to weigh up football and business priorities, these are good business decisions which come after a 20 year period of bad football and business decisions, it remains to be seen whether good footballing decisions will have been made this window, I hope we sign a couple more players

    No.

    No.

  • In an ideal world a left back, a centre back, another midfielder, we'll probably get 1 or 2

If there’s no high profile transfers available without overspending this summer then so be it, that's a good financial decision, but you can't have it both ways, if you don't want to overspend then you need to work hard to find a couple more shrewd signings like Tielemans and Santos, we need more depth

After the first Premier League game in the past few seasons we've made big money signings in Casemiro, Antony, Ugarte, Ronaldo, so I would gladly take another Lammens type of signing in the coming weeks

I can’t see INEOS ever breaking the £85m+ barrier under us, tbh.

I think we’re always going to be going for “opportunity signings” and “sensible market moves” under them which is swept up as good PR.

This whole “hybrid midfielder” who can play LB and CM (I can literally only think of MLS and Camavinga, and neither of them even want to play LB) reeks of costs cutting

Good PR actually works and would make people like you think highly of the club and ownership, instead everyone is constantly complaining about the lack of signings, these are business decisions

Carrick called for signings multiple times in his interviews last week. And Maguire did today

It’s a f***ing disgrace, get over your delusion that INEOS are a well run organisation. They were £18 billion in debt a few months ago

Also for our top “lammens type” targets, we’ve let them be snapped up by Brentford, Sunderland & Coventry since recruitment has sat back on their arse the last 5 weeks

They’re making inexcusable decisions & are just lucky they have a competent manager rn

  • Wilcox & berrada always have negative spineless body language when u see them

    F***ing pussies

    I want multiple signings

INEOS are not a very well run organisation

Manchester United are being run better as a business (reports from last year show that) but season hasn't started and transfer window hasn't ended so remains to be seen on footballing side, if it ended right now it would clearly be lacklustre

Transfer window is still open yes but more should've been done to ensure they were ready for day one of the PL

  • Lammens was a great buy but people were clamouring for him to start immediately

We had to wait a few weeks before he could be ready to play

Unless they had a s*** window and did nothing, everyone signs players late into August and into September

They've had a good window in a footballing sense and selling players this week means they'll sign players up until deadline day

Yeah but day one they come to the starting line with an improved squad and players that are ready to go

Yes they will add to that further but enough has been done to ensure day one is different than last year

Imagine if they'd done a United and were playing this weekend with 1 new midfielder and nothing else

Finishing 17th two years in a row and starting the season with 1 new midfielder would nearly make them relegation favourites

Finishing 3rd is not an excuse for United to not spend, we need more signings clearly, I think we still have a better squad than Spurs and we have a stable manager too, so I still expect to finish above them and to finish top 4

This window hasn't shown ambition for this season, despite @Grenouille insisting its good PR, every news article, social media post etc. for the past couple weeks about United being negative means the pressure is on and if we play poorly to start the season the noise will be unmissable

They have 100% ran through their usual journalists that there’s been a marked change in how we’re approaching negotiations and moving with fees. It’s disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

I also agree that we will probably finish ahead of the rabble like Spurs but we could very much finish anywhere from 2nd to 8th this season and honestly the higher up we finish I expect will be in spite of the club and its support to the manager and not because of

You said it was good PR, good PR actually works and generates positive public feeling

That information they shared is the reality, whether it’s good or not is how you read it, it could read as pragmatic and good for business and in the same breath can be interpreted as lacking ambition

I think we’ve not made enough signings and haven’t sold well, that’s clear to see
