McFred is s*** but I think we don’t have a better alternative unfortunately. Every other midfield is even more unbalanced than that one.

If Mctominays fitter than his last two games then yes we need his physicality against these Spanish sides and he was United motm in the final

Why we need preferably two(!) midfielders for those positions imo. One running merchant like Kante (that can actually make a pass aswell contrary to Fred) and one more deeplaying playmaker like Rice. Get Donny, Matic and Fred out of here.

Only thing you can bank on from game to game is that United will play ass for at least 30 minutes. Everything else is up in the air

Right now you just have to be reasonably competent to have a good chance in the CL. That's why City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have decent chances of winning it. It makes Ole's group stage f***ery even more frustrating
