Grealish was heavily linked until recently.

    Chilwell has been mentioned.

Jimenez from wolves was brought up last week.

And of course Coman as the Sancho contingency option on loan.

Its been rather quiet though other than Sancho. Presumably we get that over the line and then some more news will come in for additional targets.

grealish not gonna happen anytime soon, villa are asking for 80M i think, should’ve been relegated so we could get him for 30-40

Sanchez just got confirmed to Inter for free but they are taking over the contract fully.

Finally off the books - I think he was still the highest paid premier league player.

Gabriel, cb for Lille has been heavily rumoured too.

Wouldnt mind a move for Josh King either now Bournemouth have gone down. Cheap, knows and loves the club, pl reliable. Good backup option, esp if Ighalo likely leaves in Jan

Badiashile is another name that's coming up. I would personally take him over Gabriel, but both are great options. we do need a new cb partnership

Yeah for sure, hopefully get one over the line. Plenty of deadwood at cb to clear out. Blows my mind when I remember we still have Rojo on our books.

Looks like Ole's set on getting a left footed cb. Don't know too much about either, just remember Badiashile becoming a beast in fm. Hopefully Tuanzebe can have a good run next season too and stay injury free

Badiashile is a forsure steal. He's only 19 and does everything that Lindelof does wrong (aeriel balls and distrubution). I know madrid is also interested, but I hope we can get him

I think the squad will shape up as such:

    GK: De Gea / Romero

    RB: Bissaka/Dalot
    CB: Lindelof/Maguire/BaillyJones/Tuanzabe
LB: Shaw/Williams (or chilwell comes in and shaw f***s off)

    CM: Pogba/Matic/Fred/McTom
    RW: Sancho/Greenwood
    AM: Fernandes/Pereira
    LW: Rashford/James

    ST: Martial/Greenwood/Ighalo

Can see Greenwood playing a lot of the champions league games instead of Sancho or Martial and possibly taking over for Martial if he keeps outplaying him. Dont mind Bailly or Jones leaving but seems unlikely. Henderson another year on loan and if he betters de Gea again then next summer the job could be his.

    Outgoings: Smalling, Rojo, Lingard
    Incoming: Sancho

Grealish and one of those relatively unknown CB y'all mention above seem possible too. King maybe in January as the Ighalo replacement.

meh. getting the job done without it. Bruno was great. James is adequate. Maguire had to be done. Bissaka solid. Henderson loan has worked out great. Sanchez is off the books. Rojo is off the books. Smalling is going to Roma.

Things are going smooth for the last 12 months.

dof could get some quality players for a fraction of what we’ve been paying, united just needs a shake up when it comes to scouting and recruiting

real, all of ole's signings so far have been names anyone from this thread could've recommended.

the scouts earn their pay by finding cheaper/lesser-known gems, been a while since we've had a signing like that

Mejbri is going to be a superstar. That was a signing out of the blue. Give him 2 years and he'll take over for Pogba.

Looks exciting for sure, feel like the academy recruiting has been good recently while first team has been solid, but lacking that Javier Hernandez/Rafael type acquisition. Maybe Dan James will get there.

2007 when we signed Nani Anderson Hargreaves

    edit almost forgot Tevez

  • Aug 4, 2020

David Gill was so in his bag. Just realized he left same time as Fergie in 2013.

And its been Ed Woodward's s***show ever since.

    2005-06 season:

    Van Der Sar
    Vidic
    Evra
    Park Ji-sung

    2006-07 season:

    Carrick

    2007-08 season:

    Hargreaves
    Nani
    Anderson
    Tevez

^this 3 year stretch of signings is nuts. kind of like the run city have been on in transfer market for last few years. miss these days

    2008-09 season:

    Da Silva twins
    Berbs
Took gamble on Tosic and if y'all remember Ljajic who never came over due to Visa issue

    2009-10 season:

    Valencia (solid)
Owen on a free - worth it alone for that goal

    2010-11 season:

    Chicharito

^making champions league final with just chicharito in and no more Ronaldo was achievement in itself.

    2011-12 season:

    de Gea

    2012-13 season (Fergie last):

    Shinji
    RVP
+a lot of guys with promise that didnt pan out for us:
    (Nick Powell, Buttner, Henriquez, Zaha)

Shoutout to David Gill, he doesnt get enough praise but that track record speaks for itself.

Hopefully 2019-20 transfers were the start of something great, akin to that 2005-06 season with cornerstones of team in place:

    Maguire/Bissaka/Fernandes/James
    Vidic/Evra/VDS/Park

If being honest, this highlight video might be the most unspectacular goals/assists compilation of any player that’s ever broken the transfer record. He’s super unselfish though and hopefully keeps developing - only 20 years old.

Am buzzing. Two amazing seasons back to back. Excels at drawing out defenders and creating space. Young, British, loves the city, has friends in the team.

    Fitting no. 7

Tbf we only have one other cb available in Mengi. Probs just wanted a bit of seniority/reliability at least for 45 odd mins

fosu mensah could also play CB. I would've put him there and have Dalot on the RB position

  • Aug 5, 2020

Speaking of CB...skriniar is out of favor at Inter. Would welcome him at United any day. Instantly our best option
