You guys still think we get sancho ? I wonder if it’s even the right move. Just get a veteran with good output and let greenwood try and take the role

Initially I was extremely in favor of not getting Sancho and letting rashford/martial/Greenwood perform. We need depth behind them more than a superstar.

Although long-term I dont think Martial is the answer, and Greenwood will be the striker so a new right winger is required...just not right now.

I want Grealish to come in if the fee/wage is the same as Van Beek. He'd be great fit/depth.

Nah, definitely think the club should be all out to get him. Insane talent and potentially the only window we'll ever be so unimpeded in going for his signature. Add in the fact he's British, loves the city, plenty of friends in the squad to help him settle in, and can easily tie down that spot on the right wing for years to come.

Would be interesting if Ole blindsides us all and goes for a 442 diamond formation, fit in Matic, Pogba and VDB, and Bruno ahead.

We don't exactly have the traditional type of wingers for a 4231. Rashford ain't at his best playing on the left wing, Greenwood is a striker ideally.

But debatable whether we really have the full backs for a diamond.

my biggest takeaway from this last season is the diversity of tactics required to succeed nowadays. you have to be able to play at least 2 different formations. all teams do this city use 4-3-3 as well as the 5-3-2 fluid shape. arsenal with the 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1. Chelsea same as arsenal.

I think its clear ole prefers we set up in a 4-2-3-1 for most games, and have the 5-3-1-1 for big matches.

Agreed that our full-backs let us down in this type of set-up.

Don't know why we waited this long to sign somebodybut it seems like a decent signing from what I know.

Upamecano and a DM if we don't get Sancho wouldn't be a bad window

  • Sep 2, 2020

i think upamecano and reguilon would be a perfect way to end our transfer market. don't really care about sancho at this point. the backline needs work

  • Sep 3, 2020

Chelsea ending up doing 100 for Havertz. That means Sancho is actually going to cost us more than that, which is what Dortmund were asking for.

i think he's worth the risk tbh. already used to the league, and pairs nicely with pogba in the national team. chelsea are keen to sign rice

smh why are we getting Chelsea's cast-offs - would rather get a player like rice. also I think hes best in a 3 man midfield and seems like ole is super keen on doing a 2 man pivot

do you think we really need sancho or do we need quality players to have on the bench for squad rotations?

  • Sep 4, 2020

umtiti could potentially leave for free. i wonder if he's on united's radar

Chelsea worries me the way they've strengthened. without sancho we probably finish 4th and are in a fight all year with arsenal and spurs.

so both. the good thing about havertz signing is Woodward has to get the cheque book that he misplaced and bring sancho in otherwise it looks pathetic and he'll get a lot of stick.

but van de Beek is a good option in the middle now and covers pogba/bruno. James maybe/hopefully gets better. we're not bringing in any new bench options until the current stuff is cleared. you cant just sign some new exciting winger to backup rashford/Greenwood/martial when pereira/mata/lingard are on fat wages.

if we got a left back and sancho id be happy. defensive mid I dont see happening with matic/mctom filling that role.

yeah, that's definitely true. smalling, jones, rojo, and lingard need to go. if we do get a dm, fred might have to make way as well. realistically we'll get a dm next summer or something like that. hopefully martial continues his form as well
