Such a weird mindset especially with the audio as well. People genuinely just don't care about women I swear.

He was what, 19? So I get it to some degree but it also doesn't mean it should be a life of no consequence

Again this obviously isn’t the issue here, but even for footballing reasons alone I wouldn’t want him. Selfish player that missed a key year in his development thrown into the mix and having to be reintegrated. Look how cooked Watson is after his SA hiatus
Would be disappointing on so many levels if they brought him back into the fold

Footballing reasons the guy was on course to be one of the best around, clinical with both feet and one of the reasons we didn’t go all out for Halland I believe, the guy was insane

BUT that was the old greenwood, he won’t reach the same heights and like you say he’s missed a massive gap in development

By no means I'm not interested in a long discussion what should be the right consequence. But if you don't try to adjust his behaviour/rehabilitate or whatever in a decent matter you're producing repeating offenders. That's not what you want either right? He shouldn't get away with it without consequences, but there's an extent to that. Especially since you already said he was 19.

I'm not even replying to the "you dont care about women" rhetoric.

Weird to defend and abuser and call that "a mistake" tbh, hopefully we just make a decision on the situation and focus on the rest of the season.

that's another thing. the football aspect isn't even appealing. he's been away from the game at a very formative age. people act like he's been training everyday and if he comes back, he'll be better than when he left. it's delusion.

Sorry but we can’t rewrite history like this guy wasn’t one of the biggest talents in world football. He could be Saka/Foden level at this point if this didn’t happen I feel like.

Win against Palace and Spurs taking another beating this weekend will make our top 4 spot so comfortable 🄰

I don’t disagree but that was before he traded the training pitch for the courtroom for a year in a key development year. Mental toll probably immense too, not that I’m sympathetic

not about the country mate, any fair justice system would fail to prosecute rape on a case where the victim themself wont testify and the evidence is not definitive

hell even when the victims have their story 100% straight the whole way through its difficult to prosecute

Overzealous prosecution, mistakes and a well crafted defence narrative got him off

Regardless he lost the civil suit, no?

If money is this wonderful magic wand to make problems go away it doesn't do a great job at people still finding out about this s*** & going to trial/civil suits for it

he lost the civil suit and hasn’t even had to pay half a mill to the goldmans. it says everything that many famous people get off from stuff regular people would see jail time for

Yeah only seen after about her not being willing to testify. Nonsensical.

    Country still trash though.

You right, but in cases like Greenwood’s it’s always hard, cus on the one hand a victim, that wants to see justice done, doesn’t accept a bunch of cash to keep her mouth shut. Unless she’s pressured by family or so. In the end people just care more about money (or at least being done w it) than ā€œjusticeā€, and that’s not necessarily good or bad imo. OJ case a whole nother story tho.

Nigerians and Africans were constantly making these fake news articles about Greenwood being innocent and posting them on Twitter. And if you look under any Greenwood related post it’s mostly African fans defending him and saying he’s innocent

also this ā€˜investigation’ is just testing the waters in what media/sponsor reaction would be if Greenwood would come back in the squad let’s be real.

so is it a case of them falling for fake news or hating women... or i guess a combination of both?

A good PR run can fix anything. Just know that, we as humans, love nothing more than a good comeback. It’s engrained in our DNA.

So, if he wants to play PL football, he can absolutely create a positive comeback narrative with his girlfriend, family, and himself. It’s not rocket science, just basic understanding of people and how to create good storyline.

In the moment it might look bad, but again, our psychology is to forgive and time does that automatically.

I’m not in PR, but every celebrity I look at, when they get in trouble, they have the right PR expert to bring them back. F*** look at Kanye he’s been cancelled 20 times and comes back. Andrew Tate. Bieber. OJ is on national tv every week. Tiger.

This is different to all of those, but also every situation is different - they all share the same process to recover trust, and they are all solvable.
