and the clear difference is united isnt some small club thats in and out of the relegation zone, its arguably a top 5 biggest brand on the planet so if run properly they could generate all the revenue needed through legitimate sponsors without needing to make up shell companies

the only real argument against qatari ownership would be the sportswashing one; in that qatar wants to make the purchase to further their brand and make it more palatable globally despite the cultural/moral differences in approach to the west

and that would just be another example of westerners on their high horses

UAE/Dubai is more acceptable than Qatar I think tho? Idk much about Qatar apart from the WC headlines over the stadium worker stuff - but Dubai at least has become basically an expat haven everyone wants to live and vacation there nowadays.
