    Hi guys :)

Making a list is always fun and always pain in the ass and always, never-ending.

In honor of chaotic, so rapidly-transitional when it comes to social, political, thus musical aspect, 2010s being finally over, I decided to put some thought to make my favorite albums list throughout the decade

Excuse my English, as always ;)

I'll first put some albums that were so close but didn't make the list.

I'll keep updating OP, so hope u guys have a lot of discussion, opinions shared, etc.

    Thanks in advance

    20. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo (2016)

I believe the reason Kanye West seems totally insane at many moments is that he probably has more thoughts about everything and everyone than almost everyone living right now. You can easily see this when watching his recent interviews with Zane Lowe, Big Boy. He sits and for more than hours talking about he has thought and is thinking, as if he doesn't even have enough time to pour them out, sometimes he's surprisingly on point, and sometimes he's blatantly contradict himself.

The Life of Pablo still remains representing his most 'chaotic' mental state, conflicting between his life before and after marriage, having a family of his own. He was putting the people in church AND a (nice) butt image of a woman in the artwork of the album. Tracks on the album sound all over the place, far from being 'cohesive'. And I could not think this will be the reason I love it so much.

By the time Kanye was trolling, being an absolute mad mon right before releasing "the first version" of Pablo, I personally was in probably the biggest break-up of my life, right before taking off the university life for 2 years, dealing with many personal issues. I WAS mentally unstabled, not even knowing whether I should be crying or laughing. Then this album came out, going from praying for Paris and parents to telling models to bleach their a******s. And my first reaction that keeps saying 'what the hell is he thinking' did a complete 180 turn, thinking 'this is the perfect album when I'm at where I am now'. Now this album still remains my most played album this decade.

    19. Beach House - Bloom (2012)

A lot of albums have their own moments that making listeners want to sing their hearts out loud. But only few albums have that moment THROUGHOUT EVERY GOD DAMN TRACKS.

Even going more grander than their last milestone album, Teen Dream, Bloom is what made Beach House doing stadium-sized stages, getting numerous commercial deals, having their songs blasting out through speakers on the venues.

Victoria Legrand's vocal feels the strongest ever, Alex Scally's guitar sounds the most lush than ever. A lot of melodies just won't get out of my head. With this album, they seem they have the ability to intensify all things the have worked, and finally had their own sultry formula.

    18. Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell (2015)

It was right after Sufjan told people about his mother abused and abandoned him at his early age that, still in the end, Sufjan confessed he felt emotionally and creatively all over the map. “I was trying to manipulate my mood. I was working the opposite of my own true interior envelope. I wasn’t able to admit how deeply I was affected by her death.”, he said in an interview in 2015.

When artists face deaths, as a listener it's really painful to watch and hear what they say through their music. But at the same time, they're mostly wonderful, it's really bittersweet moment. Carrie & Lowell, throwing out all of electronica elements he played with in the former album of his in this decade-Age of Adz-, is probably the most well-written album about the death this decade, maybe in the whole history.

Feels received from this album are just too much to handle, even when I don't even know his life that much, I could almost cry everytime I listen this album. Sufjan's cold vocal stucks with simple, rather beautifully hollow production. I find this album has special place in my heart because, even at the very end, Sufjan still couldn't find peace, still couldn't get himself a happy ending or 'move on' moment. He just keeps digging to his own emotional rock bottom, and he presents it as it is to listeners, with his spectacular skills of narrating, using biblical stories.

    17. Drake - Take Care (2011)

Even haters of Drake can't help but agree he's been the greatest 'star' of the decade. and even fans who prefer other albums of his like 'Nothing Was The Same' or 'If You're Reading This...' can't help but agree Take Care, is the biggest reason he's in his state right now.

Choosing the best Drake album is really difficult, so I only could decide my 'favorite' style from him. Lying on Abel Tesfaye and Noah "40" Shebib's chilling, late-night atmospheric production, Drake, just emotionally, "simps". Even though he had some stupid decisions, meme-worthy moves, kept on disses he occasionally wins, and occasionally loses, this album still remains one of my favorite albums of this decade.

    16. Death Grips - The Money Store (2012)

'BEFORE YEEZUS, THERE WAS DEATH GRIPS!' I can scream this out loud, unironically. The year 2012, my last year as a teenage, was full of 'teen anguish', I frequently ditched school classes, listened to music while in class with my earbuds on not caring angry teachers, did the strangest late-night dance in my dark room. And at that time, listening to The Money Store by Death Grips was the best way to relieve my stress from all over my life.

I don't really 'love' or 'revisit' any other albums by Death Grips. But The Money Store just feels weirdly, perfect in every way within their sonical space. Like, if this band finds a perfect work out of their style and ability to make music, this album is it. Those shattered and almost painful-to-hear samplings and MC Ride's aggressive-ever rapping/shouting, Zach Hill's earth pounding drums. It's so intense and made me want to punch anyone in front of me when listening to this album.

As time passes and looking back at this album, nowadays' chaotic, too-many-to-handle information and contents with 'fully-digital era' just weirdly fits with The Money Store, as if it sort of represents this era we're living in. Now it's not my 'everyday' album, but everytime I listen to it, it's still fresh as morning coffee.
