its fun. i thought the promo was kinda dumb? but still went and had a great time. i never get that juiced from trailers (same goes for this) but i still expected it to be good, and it was!

i think you should try divorcing your connection to the promo with the idea of what the film would be, orrr rather go see it an recalibrate it. i feel from movie to movie even within a certain studio or distro/production company the relationship and quality of promo,trailers,etc to movie will vary.
