$30 is a steal for families though. Large groups of families are the ones that usually show up at the theaters.

Yeah but this assumption that every single viewer is in some family of 6 or having all their friends coming around to watch during a pandemic to justify me suddenly being okay with a 1000% markup on a DVD rental seems like a bit of an insult to consumer intelligence IMO

It being over quadruple the price of a matinee where there’s staff to pay and operation cost vs me just pressing play at my house is kinda wild

I’m shocked that this is coming to D+ on day one. Feige was pretty adamant on not wanting that to happen.

Disney CEO ain’t playing no games

  • Mar 24, 2021

I’ll be vaccinated by then but tbh I’ll probably still just do the $30 instead to watch at home

They were promoting BW before it was pushed back a whole year.

If they push BW again, they will push the others back also.

Doubt it though, I expect a cinemas/Disney plus release.

They didn’t push back any other marvel movies but they ended up pushing back a bunch of Disney movies

Nah watch Disney skip Loki that week while episode 4 ends on a big cliffhanger or something

Loki either getting moved back up so it fits or getting Pushed back I doubt they drop 2 projects at the same time

The fact that they've kept the price at $30, even after Mulan and Raya proves that more people are willing to pay that price than you all think.

Disney+ has 95 million subscribers. If only 15% of those subscribers purchase Black Widow, that's $427 million for Disney. Studios would die for those numbers right now.

The Chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment distribution already said the decision reflects the evolving preferences of audiences. Piracy and those vocal on social media don't seem to be having much impact.

They pushed everything back to 2021 last year, not just Black Widow.

I guess there's less piracy in America.

And I don't know how things will be in June, but right now, in some countries, you can't really visit other people, let alone reunite at their homes.

hell even if you cut that percentage in half, they will still make a return on their investment, its a no brainer money wise, theyll make bank on this

Yeah. The majority of financial losses from piracy comes from overseas. Only 20% of losses comes from the US. China and Russia have the highest rates of piracy. I'm sure the pandemic has led to an increase in piracy, but I don't think the impact is that big.

  • Mar 25, 2021

Yeah, and I don't see many people paying in Europe, most comments are from people saying they already paying for the subscription and they don't want to pay more.
