The s*** that comic book fans want in superhero movies gets eaten up by general audiences lol. Disparity between general audiences and comic book fans is a myth, and proving that it was a myth is arguably the biggest part of the legacy of the MCU.
The highest grossing and most celebrated Marvel films are the most comic booky and filled with fan service. Hell why do you think the first Spider-Man captured the imagination of audiences so much in 2002 while Blade and X-Men didnāt come close to that Reeve Superman type effect or cultural impact?
