He was raised outside of Wakanda with the sole intention of being more grounded and not tangled with the madness of the kingdom, by a humanitarian and philanthropic woman that educated him extensively. This is touched upon in Wakanda Forever btw
So Prince T’Challa would not agree with the ways of the nation
The classic outsider archetype is right there with this material. He finally comes to Wakanda, and even tho he has the birthright, he’s also an outsider. That could create juicy conflict and drama. To add, Wakanda in Wakanda Forever immediately reverses everything T’Challa was working towards to change the country in the first Black Panther (also shown in Infinity War) - he wouldn’t have agreed with Wakanda in that film lol. Wakanda was in the wrong. So his son would also have motive to finish his father’s righteous mission
They definitely have to walk back to Wakanda being a friend to the rest of the world again, this might be it
