Wait if everyone forgets he's Spider-Man doesn't Vulture have nothing on him anymore? Where is that story going to go. I feel like that shouldn't be undone that was a cool new thing they did with him and Spider-Man and we should continue that in another movie

Yeah but horrible might be the point. Besides the major leaks specifically stating that’s the ending, such a spell makes sense because:
- there’s gonna be a status quo change for Spidey going forward
- the story is clearly a reverse One More Day
- the theme is about Peter not being able to make a choice, so it follows through with the theme in a satisfying way when you compound it with Peter’s guilt
