  • Need a new Punisher movie/series. They should boost the lesser known properties in this era along with having the big franchises

sure but way I see from it, TFA was a dogshit Episode 4 ripoff that added nothing new of interest to Star Wars. Rian's creativity gave us easily the best movie of the 3 and while it is extremely flawed in how it handles its characters, it also makes the most bold artistic choices of the trilogy. Its the only movie from the Disney SW entities that is even worth anything.

i personally loved rian johnsons star wars the most too, might even be my fav star wars movie overall

but i agree with what u said about all studios wanting to create 'cinematic universes' and that is definitely hurting creative freedom
but like the studios care most about money and thatll always stay that way

but at the same time, i completely understand if they dont actually give FULL creative freedom or have their own feedback, thats basically what feige does, and he knows how to make enjoyable movies

for example with the amazing spiderman 2, which sony made, they asked kevin feige for feedback after they showed him an early cut, the sony email leaks leaked his email with feedback too, and all the feedback he gave wouldve improved the movie alot

i feel like they want to try alot of new things, cause they know they got the fans, but also have their limits, bc at the end of the day these movies have to work together yk ?

if you let all directors have full creative freedom u may end up with something like the star wars sequel trilogy, which doesnt really work together

yeah, it sucks how much Feige has succeeded from this model and perhaps the Hollywood model was always doomed to lead to this. The damage Marvel has done is already irreversible because at this point, the only reason theaters are even alive is because of Disney and their heavy frequency in putting out material the general population wants to see.

I am not really trying to say that WB is great or anything because they have a lot of stinkers as well, but I do appreciate that atleast they still look to somewhat reject the idea of cinematic universes (with Joker for example, allowing Phillips to tell the story he wanted that went against the entire DCEU) and still prove that director driven art is a viable path, although perhaps still a rarity to actually see some great stuff out of it (which honestly I just blame the changing industry and what they look for in a director, which tends to these days be moreso basic af and willing to comply)

yeah, i love what theyre doing, also with the batman + gotham pd series + suicide squad looks crazy

i do really hope (as a huge mcu stan) mcu lets more directors have freedom too, cause the people will get tired of the movies, i feel like black widow is gonna do terrible (for mcu standards) but we'll see

sam raimi hated spider man 3 bc he didnt get full creative freedom, they forced him to put venom in it, so i dont think he wouldve accepted the dr strange 2 job if he didnt get freedom, so im especially excited for that one

i mean theyre even using feige for the star wars now

I’d like it if every single character didn’t have the same little snarky personality moving forward. Ragnarok was fun but every movie doesn’t need to be a two-hour PG-13 Archer episode.

Yea they gotta experiment more tbh, i hope they do more cosmic and interdimensional s***

I think DC films will thrive this decade though tbh

  • i agree, but don't think they'll take any risks. was looking forward to the doctor strange horror movie and then those reports of them disagreeing with the director's vision/direction came out sooo
