Harbour and Pugh stole the show. Could’ve done more with Taskmaster. The post credit scene was dope. Hawkeye is going to be fire

Those call backs were cool. But I could tell it was going to be his daughter lol Wanted more. I like gritty fights too.

I wonder if they’ll keep her going forward or basically make a taskmaster II who can be more comic faithful.

I’d love if they kept her, but now just turned her into a hireable mercenary who can be a villain for different shows and movies

the scenes that stuck out to me:

-the prison escape with the avalanche. this scene was a blast
-the action sequence when nat jumped off the plane after yelena and then fought the taskmaster in the air. thought that looked really cool. dodging the falling debris and whatnot
-the family dinner table scene. by this point i just loved these characters and their dynamic so much
-"it was real to me too"
-in the post credits scene, I enjoyed the heartfelt moment at the grave followed by Valentina's comic relief. so Val is really gonna be the anti-Fury, and I already love her team and want to see a movie with them. I presume Val and Yelena will appear in Hawkeye given the clint thing.

Like I said in the regular thread, I had a really great time with this. The movie itself is almost great.

I loved the family dynamic in this film and I especially loved David Harbour and even more than him I loved Florence Pugh. She’s the future man

The action was very well done and I can see where the Winter Soldier comparisons come in.

As her final performance as Natasha, Scarlett did good.

Functionally, this is a Phase 3 film from start until the credits. As the first film of Phase 4 it doesn’t really work as of now. We’ll see what elements come into play later. Maybe all the Widows that are free have started up an independent organization?

The most disappointing thing on this film was Taskmaster. I would’ve rather it be her supplier friend instead of Drakov’s daughter. I get what they were trying to do but for TASKMASTER it didn’t work.

Ray Winstone was kind of one note, which worked but there could’ve been more.

Overall this is a 7.8/10 for me. Again, almost great just a couple of things missed the Mark.

taskmaster reveal actually shocked me for some reason

Middle of the road MCU for me. We gave black widow new connections but I don’t know that they told me anything about her character that I didn’t already know.

Also taskmaster, yea I wasn’t feeling that. It was really nice to see them reuse moves and choreo from different characters, trying to pinpoint who she stole s*** from. But this was as bad as Deadpool in wolverine origins as far as character adaption goes. Plus keeping draykov’s daughter alive felt like a cheap way to absolve Natasha of her guilt. I always wished MCU Natasha was a little more ruthless like her comic book counterpart but I guess it wasn’t meant to be

Then the timing of the film, while it makes sense to insert a black widow story here, why on earth didn’t they make time in the MCU schedule to release this movie after civil war?

Other than that, action scenes were cool, well acted and the characters had chemistry. Draykov and taskmaster going down as the bottom of the barrel mcu villains though and like I said it’s a shame that they smoothed the rough edges of widow’s character because in comparison to other marvel heroes I’ve always enjoyed her being one of the shadier and edgier ones

Opposite for me, I didn’t realize people expected OT to be taskmaster until I read tweets after the movie. That actually would’ve shocked me bc as it stands I couldn’t tell you what the point of his character was
