“As we announced at Comic-Con last year, we’re moving ahead with Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. The development and storylines are coming together, and we’ll have announcements very, very soon.”
We'll probably get director / writer announcement in early 2021, in the next 6 months.

Even then, they would have to start filming before the end of the year to be able to meet the date.
An obstacle is that the October 2022 date that Marvel Studios have is currently taken by Spider-Verse 2. I doubt Marvel would have Sony move that for Blade

Would be weird for them to have all movies and tv shows in chronological order except that one

lilcoWhoever directed John Wick, I feel like that style would really work with "Blade". Or if you want a heavily stylized film that doesn't shy away from the brutal material, Nicolas Winding Refn. Also for selfish reasons, I'd love to see Refn and Ali work together.
