no i get it, not saying i'm taking a side or anything, just think hawke was trying to say we need to look at MCU movies in their own lane, seperate from "art films"

and while most people on this site are able to differentiate the two, when discussion comes up about a superhero movie being nominated, it often i think clouds that differentiation to people on the outside looking at the whole debate with a wide lense. for ppl with a understanding of this differentiation though, we recognize we just want the movie to be awarded for its popularity so to speak, not that we want it to be compared to Stanley Kubrick's filmography.

Yeah this is something I think the Oscars need to focus on changing in the future. For as many problems as the Grammys have, they do a good job of nominating both the popular stuff as well as the artsy/niche stuff, the Oscars favor the latter way too much
